On February 2, 1944, a gentle and loving soul named Margaret Faye Lynthacum was born in Richmond County. She graced this world for 81 years, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her, before passing away peacefully at her home on June 4, 2025.
Margaret was a remarkable woman whose life was deeply rooted in her Christian faith. She was often described as a "Godly Woman," a testament to her unwavering devotion and the spiritual warmth she extended to everyone she met. Her faith wasn't just a part of her life; it was the guiding light that shaped her into a beacon of love, humor, and kindness.
Her greatest joy was her family, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Margaret is survived by her husband, Roy Lynthacum. She leaves behind her son Chris Lynthacum(Crystal), and her daughter, Magon Miller. Though her son, Greg Lynthacum, preceded in death, his memory lives on in the stories and love that Margaret carried with her.
Margaret was also a beloved sister, survived by her sisters: Carol Smith, Millie Brady, and Bobby Lewis. Special nieces: Erica Light, Helen Games, Brenda Irvin and Jordan Patterson. Her brother and sisters: Ruth Sullivan, Elizabeth Bowman, Betty Jean Talley, Alma Banks, Ruth Sullivan, and Ralph Shepherd Jr preceded her in death.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Tamra, Josh, Leah, Hailey, Aiden, Jaylen, Micah, Jonah, and Abigail; and her great grandchildren: Ben, Connor, Zachary, Jacob, Lakelynn, Emmy, Violet, Kolbey, Graham, Dorthy, Ezekiel and Jaden and Wrennlie.
With a quick wit and a loving nature, Margaret had a way of making those around her feel special and cherished. She had an infectious laugh that could light up the darkest room and a heart full of compassion. She was not only a loving wife, mother, and sister but also a friend to many.
In her final message to the world, Margaret wanted nothing more than for those she left behind to know the Lord as she did. Her deep faith was her greatest gift, and she shared it freely, hoping that others would find the same peace and joy in their lives.
As we remember Margaret, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering faith. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her. Rest in peace, dear Margaret, and may your legacy of love and faith continue to shine brightly.
