The world is a less joyous place without Gator, but Heaven has become even more joyous. Marty had an impact on my life, and I will always remember him.


I will always remember Marty's smile and sense of humor. We had lots of fun times. My heart goes out to his family. He won't be forgotten.

I thought highly of Marty and enjoyed working with him at WLIK(I had a weekly Oldies Program) and also as a reporter at School Board Meetings. He was a joy to be around.

Prayers going up for the family of Marty Ricker.  As the former WLIK  play-by-play broadcaster of the Cosby Eagles football team, I had many opportunities to interact with Marty, particularly during the football season and when he visited our church.  He had so many stories to tell, he will be greatly missed.  God bless,

I am so heart broken to hear of Marty's passing. Gone way to soon. I pray for comfort for his family during this time of grief. 

Oh Marty. I hate that you're gone. You will be missed. All of us will miss you buddy. You always made me laugh. R.I.P. my friend.

This is sad & such a shock.  Marty was always such a nice young man & a family friend since the days of Camp Joshua in Camp Creek  when the young people spent most of their summers there as counselors for Pastor Ken Smith.

Your going to be missed you where the best DJ 

I hate getting my LITTLE BLACK PURSE and dress out of the closet.  That means I'm getting ready to come be with your family and pay my last respects.  Not to say my goodbye's though.  I will NEVER say, "Goodbye" to you Marty HOWARD RICKER  because you will always live in my heart.  You left me way too soon and too suddenly though.  We had many more yard sales to go to, many more laughs to share, and many more burritos to eat.  "Come back, come back! my heart screams.  I need to know if I was a good friend to you.  I need to know if you forgive me for fussing at you about your "scary' driving habits.  I need to clean your house again.  I owe you $7.00 for the burritos you brought me.  I need you to video my yard sale for FACEBOOK and put it on SWAP-n-SHOP.  Come back, come back!  I need to tell you "I love you " one last time!.....Your passing has resurrected a deep sadness within me that I haven't felt in a long time.  Death is such a sting-it hurts, it rips, it tears.  I know you told me several times you were ready and just wanted to go on to HEAVEN but I am selfish and want you here.  I miss your friendship so much.  This has been a shocking loss.  But there is GOOD NEWS!  Jesus is coming soon and we will all be together again someday... just like you used to sing about.,,,,So  goodbye for now, but not Forever, Melanie

My sweet, fun-loving Marty has left me way too soon!  In time,  my broken heart will mend, (with God's help) but life will never be the same without your wit, your singing voice and your radio voice.  I just can't believe you are gone.  I felt your love and care every time we were together.  I treasured your friendship. I don't want to get out my LITTLE BLACK PURSE because that means I am coming to see you one last time.   But, PRAISE THE LORD, one day we will see each other again in Heaven.  Until then, tough days are up ahead for I will miss all you did for me,  our "thrift store dates", your GPS navigating me to the next yard sale, your texts, your phone calls, your humor, your love for almost every SEC team  and your love and heart for GOD.  (My tears are making this text so blurry.)  So to the family, Mike, Shelby and Chris, my prayer is that GOD will comfort you and walk with you, comforting you with His presence.  I grieve alongside with you.  I absolutely loved MARTY HOWARD RICKER.  I just hope he knew how much.
