He was a member of Hardin’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his former wife: Betty Cox, who stood by his side until the end; son: Chris Cox; granddaughter: Zaylee Cox; mother: Lillian Cox; sister: Sharon Hensley; niece: Katrina Hensley; great nephew: Damarian Story; great niece: Diamond Brown; very special cousins and friends; and his special pet: Frisky Bear.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Cox; a brother: Gary Cox; a sister-in-law: Kathy Couch; two grandfathers: Tom Cox and David C. Deyton; and two grandmothers: Bertha Cox and Mary Ann J. Deyton.
The family will receive friends from 4pm-5pm Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 5pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Hughes and Debbie Cogburn officiating.
His body will be cremated and burial will be at a later date in Hardin’s Chapel Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Durham Hensley Health and Rehabilitation Center, his caregivers, and his friends.
