Park "Bob" Laws

He served during World War II in the Army Air Corps, European Theater with the 567th Bombardment Squadron Army Air Corps as a Corporal. He received the Distinguished Unit Badge, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with one Silver Star and 4 Bronze Stars.

He was a tool and dye maker at Metals Engineering (retired).

Mr. Laws is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Sandra Ann Laws and Danny Laughren of Oak Island, North Carolina and Amanda Rose Laws and Michael McElyea of Unicoi, Tennessee; four step-daughters: Judy and Larry Smith of Telford, Sandra Kay and John Smith of Greeneville, Janice and Jim Farnsworth of Greeneville, and Kathy Brooks of Greeneville; four sisters: Pauline Laws Ellis of Unicoi, Ruth Laws McCurry of Erwin, Kathleen Laws McIntosh of Unicoi, and Mary Jane Laws Linville of Brandon, Florida; brother and sister-in-law: Jeff and Nancy Laws of Walkertown, North Carolina; sister-in-law: Genevieve Laws of Erwin; grandchildren: Matthew and Lisal Roberts, Tabitha and Jeff Bruce, Melinda Laughren, Adam and Amber McElyea, Heather and Erik Mullins; step-grandchildren: Michelle and Jay Curtis, Roger and Kim Smith, Miranda and Chris Dean, Allison and Chad Tweed, Chip and Cecelia Hopson, Jason Hopson, Richie Tweed, Melanie and Troy Brown; sixteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the son of the late Caney Laws and Savannah Bailey Laws and was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Charlene Deyton Laws; his second wife, Mary Kate Hensley Laws; two brothers: L.C. Laws and Clyde Laws.

The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home preceding the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. J. D. Swanger and Rev. Stephen Rutherford will officiate.

Interment will follow at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Carter County. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10 a.m. Friday for the committal service. The Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.

His pallbearers are his grandsons: Matthew Roberts, Adam McElyea, Jason Hopson, Chip Hopson, Roger Smith; and great grandson: Neelynn McElyea.
