Rex Smith

He was employed in the heavy construction industry.

Mr. Smith was a member of Union Temple Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife: Karen Smith; three children and spouses: Kimberly and Joe Waycaster, Brandi and Shannon Westmoreland, and Kellie and Thomas Quick; one step-son: Roger Metcalf; grandchildren: Nicholette Koch, Zachary Koch, Elijah Quick, Carson Quick, Amber Metcalf; brother: Carrol Smith and Phyllis; mother-in-law: Janice Thomas; brother-in-law: Willie Barrett; special friends: Owen Lynch, Ismael and Ronda Castro, and Billy and Barbara Burkett; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Glen and Velma Smith; a sister: Phyllis Barrett; and a grandchild: Anna Ruth Metcalf.

He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and son.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Oakdale Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Hensley officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Owen Lynch, Roger Metcalf, Roger Massey, Barry Koch, Joe Waycaster, and Thomas Quick.

Honorary pallbearers are John Barrett, Mark Barrett, Shannon Westmoreland, Randall Massey, and Jimmy Massey.
