

She was a retired nurse and homemaker.
Mrs. Casteel was a member of Union Free Will Baptist Church.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved the Lord. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, gardening, the Atlanta Braves, and the Tennessee Lady Vols. Her smile and sweet disposition endeared all who met her and left sunbeams along her pathways.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law: Brenda and Johnny D. Jones and Ann Socha of Greeneville and Sue Jones of Jonesborough, with whom she made her home and who was her caregiver; grandchildren: Karen Jones and special friend Jim Baskett, Shelly Smith and husband Nathan, Becky Wright, Kelly Casteel and wife Kandice, all of Greeneville; great grandchildren: Lauren Smith, Lindsey Smith, Jacob Wright, Ty Casteel, and Trey Casteel, all of Greeneville; three sisters: Nell Carter of Greeneville and Bertha Turner and Lucille Knight of Mosheim; sister-in-law: Betty Brown of Greeneville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the daughter of the late Walter and Mattie Malone and was preceded in death by her husband, W.D. Casteel; one son: Tim Casteel; one brother: Haskel Malone; and a son-in-law: Walter Socha.
The family will receive friends 5pm-8pm Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, May 25, 2013 in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Kevin Casteel and Rev. David Dugger officiating.
Interment will follow in Cross Anchor Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Baskett, Nathan Smith, Kelly Casteel, Randy Carter, Doug Carter, Eddie Harmon, and Jacob Wright.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rhobey Brown, Dr. Brad Strange, Dr. Charles Montgomery, Joe Harmon, Jerry Harmon, Leighton Brown, Danny Jones, Johnny Johnson, Billie Carter, and Kenny Hartman.
