Ruth G. Russell

She was a retired Avon Distributor and “was a devoted wife and homemaker” and was member of Central Baptist Church where she attended as long as her health permitted.

She is survived by her husband: James Wyatt Russell; a daughter: Lynda Joyce Cortese; a son and daughter-in-law: Garry Lawrence and Ruth Morelock; two grandsons: Randal Wayne Lingerfelt and Jason Lawrence Morelock; two granddaughters: Holly Annette Jones-Price and Ashlea Renee’Shaffer; four great grandsons and four great granddaughters; four sisters: Alma Kate McAfee, Reba Sue Shelton, Brenda Shelton Sharp, and Janet Shelton Smith;

two brothers: Delbert Shelton and Ralph Shelton; an aunt: Dovena Cutshaw Johnson; 23 nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and great nephews.

She was the daughter of the late Milburn and Diora Shelton and was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Doyle Shelton and Eula Oneta Parton; two brothers, James Dalton Shelton and Calvin Paul Shelton.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010, in the Kiser Rose Hill Chapel with Pastor Todd Abbey and Pastor Dave Abbey officiating.

Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
