Susie Margaret Key

Susie Margaret Key, 87, of Afton passed away Tuesday morning at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to everyone who knew her. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she attended faithfully as long as her health permitted. She was a retired employee of Philips Consumer Electronics.

She is survived by three children and their spouses: Linda Malone of Johnson City, Lonnie and Linda Key, and Rex and Brenda Key all of Greeneville; grandchildren and their spouses: Todd and Missy Malone, Chris Key, Charity and Tom Henn, Kristine and Chad Mitchel, and Joshua and Crystal Key; step-grandchildren: Dustin Strong and Dakota Cutshaw; great Grandchildren: Brandon Malone, Tyler Pierce, Patrick Key, Logan Lawson, Christian Henn, Callen Henn, Quinten Mitchel, Leyton Mitchel, and Jayden Key; a sister, Linda West; brother, Sam Murdock, both of Greeneville; brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Nila Murdock; sister-in-law, Mary Murdock, all of Garden Prairie, IL; sisters-in-law: Kathleen Key, Mable Key, and Gladys Adams all of Greeneville; brother-in-law, Dave Key of Greeneville; a very special friend, Marcella Weems; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, John Herman Key; parents, James A. and Nancy Murdock; brothers, James Murdock and Carson Murdock; and sisters, Della Mae Knight and Betty Armstrong.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 25, 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, September 26 at 2 p.m.in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Carter and Rev. Wade McAmis officiating. Interment will be in Cross Anchor Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Key, Patrick Key, Josh Key, Chad Mitchel, Quinten Mitchel, Leyton Mitchel, Todd Malone, and Brandon Malone.
