He was a member of Susong Memorial Church.
Mr. Shelton retired from the Austin Company. He loved to farm and he farmed all of his life.
Survivors include a niece and husband: Frances and Jerry Ricker of Greeneville; nephews and wives: Bobby Dean and Darlene Fann of Greeneville and Byrl and Linda Fann of Limestone; several cousins; and his many friends from Susong Memorial Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Cephus and Edith Shelton.
There will be a private graveside service will Rev. Clay Wilkerson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to help defray funeral expenses.
