Tressie Marlene Gunter

She was a homemaker.

Marlene was a member of Pathways Church of Sevierville.

Marlene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years: Harley Bruce Gunter; six children and spouses: Bobby and Lisa Gunter of Midway, Kathy and Terry Bougher of Dandridge, Brenda and Pat Brooks of Church Hill, David W. Gunter and Teresa Carter of Church Hill, Carla and Michael West of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Carl Gunter of Knoxville; fourteen grandchildren: Lesa Vornehm, Anna Carson, Jeremy Gunter, David M. Gunter, Amber Barnes, Dawn Dukes, Wesley Holloway, Michael Holloway, Sarenda Sewell, Travis Gunter, Bruce Gunter, Brandon Githens, Bradley Githens, and April Gunter; 24 great grandchildren; brothers: Delbert and Harvey Conner of Greeneville; sister: Nellie Dodd of Greeneville; in-laws: Willa May Conner, Grover and Betty Gunter, Walter Berlin and Carolyn Gunter, Patsy Gunter-Arnold, and Marie Gunter of Greeneville, and Floyd and Nellie Gunter of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the daughter of the late Aurthur and Bonnie Lamb Conner and was preceded in death by father-in-law and mother-in-law: Manly and Pearley May Gunter; siblings and in-laws: Elbert Conner, Wilmer Conner, Bruce Conner, Wiley Conner, Charlie Conner, Lorene Radar, Mamie McDarys, Josephine Bishop, Clyde and Rebakate Belt, Donald and Trula May Cronk, Ronald and Bettie Jo Martin, Garland Gunter; and one great grandson: Justin A. Holloway.

The family sends a special thanks to Smokey Mountain Hospice, Dawn Dukes, Sarenda Sewell, and Keith Githens for the extra assistance, care meals, and love they have provided during our time of loss and sorrow.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8pm Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2pm Thursday, November 14, 2013, in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Pastor Pat Freeman and Rev. Jerry Hopson officiating.

Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Gunter, David W. Gunter, Carl Gunter, Terry Bougher, Keith Githens, Pat Brooks, Bruce Gunter, David M. Gunter, Wesley Holloway, and Mark Dukes.
