

He was a retired employee of Austin Company.
Mr. Dunbar attended First Church of Nazarene as long as his health permitted.
He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He always put family first and will be missed by all those who knew him. He will always be loved and in our hearts.
He is survived by two sons: Jerry Dunbar and Jackie Dunbar of Greeneville; two daughters: Joyce Pounders and Darlene Kelley of Greeneville; a son-in-law: Michael Gunter, of Marshall, North Carolina; grandchildren: Angela Williams, Terry Deyton, Sherri Gross, Tracie Dunbar, Crystal Smith, Melissa Shiflet, Michael Gunter, Jamie Dunbar, Jeremey Dunbar, and Shawn Dunbar; several great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two brothers and sisters-in-law: Talmie and Jettie Dunbar and William and Brenda Dunbar, all of Greeneville.
He was the son of the late Willie and Pearl Dunbar and was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Betty Dunbar; a daughter, Sandra Kay Gunter; one granddaughter, Lisa Kay Shelton; five brothers: Guy, J.D., Billy, Ferd, and Sanford Dunbar; and five sisters: Nellie Crum, Marlyn Hensley, Geneva Dunbar, Merytle Harrison, and Nellie Dunbar.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Michael Crum and Rev. Danny Ricker will officiate.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Greeneville.
His pallbearers are Jimmy Shiflet, Ronald Shelton, Rodney Smith, Chris Willett, William Dunbar, and Jeremey Dunbar.
Michael Gunter, Jamie Dunbar, and Terry Deyton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Sonja Woods for her caring service.
