He was born May 25, 1921, the son of the late Nathan Winfield Scott and Lula Cordelia Lamb in Hamilton County, Tennessee. He was the third of ten children. He worked hard and enjoyed his life as a farmer providing for his family. He retired from Wal-Mart. He was married to Margaret Payne Lamb on December 21, 1946. They shared 64 precious years together and had five children.
He attended Lick Creek Valley Free Will Baptist Church in Mosheim as long as his health permitted. He often told his family and friends that he loved the Lord and was ready to go to his eternal home giving a wonderful testimony. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II, being stationed in Italy and North Africa. He would tell you that his accomplishments in life were very little, but to his family, he was so admired for his love for his wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends. The legacy he left and impact that he had on his family and friends will never be forgotten. He made a difference in the lives of others for his love, kindness and zest for life he showed in all that he did. He loved to reminisce of fond memories and share stories to all that would listen. He loved his grandchildren dearly and his eyes would light up to see them.
