Born as a twin on February 22, 1940, in Mengici, Croatia to Ivan and Maria, Armando grew up with a deep sense of family and togetherness that remained with him throughout his life.
Armando shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Marija, with whom he built a home filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Their bond was the foundation of a family that meant everything to him.
He was a proud and devoted father to Dorian (Liza), Susie, and Lorena. He found great joy in being “Nono” to Nathan (Katelyn), Erica, Emily, Mitchell (Shelby), Natalie, Amanda, and Kayla (Jake), and “Great-Grandpa” to Fionn. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he never missed an opportunity to share a story, a laugh, or a word of encouragement.
He will be missed by all friends and extended family.
In 1967, he immigrated to Canada with his wife, Marija, and their young son, Dorian, building a new life rooted in love, resilience, and hard work. Together they created a warm and welcoming home, where family and friends always felt a sense of belonging.
Armando had a passion for woodworking, hunting, and playing cards, and he cherished every moment spent with his friends and family. After retirement, he looked forward to his summers in Rovinj, Croatia, where he enjoyed reconnecting with his family and the place that shaped his early years.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff and doctors at Georgetown Hospital, the staff at Bethell Hospice, and the entire Palliative Care team for their care and compassion.
Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made to Bethell Hospice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences can be made online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
