Born on May 29, 1955, in Woodstock, Ontario, she was the cherished daughter of Barbara and the late James Gordon.
For 48 devoted years, Deb was the beloved wife and partner of Ted Williams. Together, they built a life grounded in love, commitment, and shared devotion to family — a partnership that stood as the heart of their home.
Deb was a deeply loving mother to Jason (Amy), Amy K. (Michael Berry), Jeremy (Rachel), and Sarah (Brett Arnold). Her children were her greatest joy, and her love for them was constant, generous, and unwavering.
She was a proud and devoted grandmother to ten grandchildren: Emily, Ben, Nathan, Matthew, Lucas, Lauren, Hannah, Julianna, Isabella and Seraphina. Nothing delighted Deb more than time spent with her grandchildren, watching their personalities grow and their lives unfold.
The eldest of four siblings, Deb shared a close and enduring bond with her family. She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Barbara Gordon, and by her siblings: Marg (Ken Whiting), Jim (Patti), and Jeff (Kelly).
She lived a life that reflected her love and faith in her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Her faith was lived out in many ways, through her musical talents as a member of The Salvation Army Songsters in Woodstock and Guelph, as well as her work with young people – from toddlers to young adults, opening her home as a place to gather and a shared meal.
Deb’s lifelong love of children shaped the course of her life. Through motherhood, grandmotherhood, and the countless quiet acts of care she offered others, she had an extraordinary ability to make people feel safe, valued, and deeply loved. She often opened the family home to welcome in young people in need of a place to stay and motherly love. Her kindness, patience, and quiet strength left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
She will be remembered for her kind smile, her selflessness, and her gift for making a home that welcomed everyone. Deb’s legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the love she gave so freely.
She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
