

Born May 27, 1931, in Liessel, The Netherlands, Hugh lived a life of hard work, fidelity, and dedication. He was a first-rate mechanic, farmer, and author who published books and articles about WWII and other subjects.
Hugh is survived by his children John, Case, Petra and Marlene/Khrys (James) as well as his grandchildren Christina, Owen, Renee and Jill and their children. He was sadly predeceased by his grandson Bradley, who tragically died March 9, 2024. Hugh will be remembered by his surviving siblings John, Betsy (John), Maria (Arnold), and Bernadette as well as Tera and a multitude of nieces and nephews. The people of Meaford and Strathroy will recall him for his near daily rides around town on his feather adorned bicycle.
Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph. Private cremation has taken place. A Visitation will be held on Saturday April 6th from 10-11am, with a Memorial Service at 11am. Reception to follow.
