

Born on December 22, 1952, in Scotland to the late Andrew and Mary Hossack, Irene immigrated to Canada in 1966, where she was lovingly raised by Richard and Annie Webster (both predeceased). She built a life marked by kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Irene was the beloved wife of David Dowson, cherished mother of Douglas, Nicole, and Michelle (Adam Duval), and a devoted grandmother to Logan, Brady, Megan, Sarah, Liam, Ethan, Dylan, and Aliya. Daughter-In-Law to Albert (predeceased) and Margaret Dowson. Her family, especially her grandchildren, were the center of her world, and she found joy in every moment spent with them.
A proud member of the Orange Lodge (Brampton) and a vibrant member of the Mini Lakes community in Puslinch, Irene was known for her warmth, generous spirit, and involvement in the lives of those around her. She worked for many years at T.J. Lipton/Unilever, where her dedication and hard work left a lasting impression.
Irene’s passions included knitting, baking, gardening, bowling, darts, and playing cards, all of which reflected her vibrant personality and love of life. She was a true nurturer, a strong yet gentle soul, and a woman whose legacy of love and commitment will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home – Hart Chapel, A Celebration of Irene's Life will be held on Sunday, July 20th from 2 - 4 pm at Mini Lakes Pavillion Hall (7541 Wellington Rd. 34, Guelph) The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice Wellington in her memory.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
