Joseph Peter Gaca

Joe was a devoted father to Laura (Cam), a caring stepfather to Nicole (Chris), and a proud and loving grandfather to Sierra, Jackson, Thomas, and Hailie. He was a cherished brother to Fred (Kazy), and a beloved uncle to Fred Jr. (Tracy) and Stephanie. Joe is also remembered by his daughter’s loyal dogs, Jeter and Diesel, who were constant companions.

Born on February 17, 1946, Joe was predeceased by his parents, Edmund and Antonia Gaca. He will be remembered for his warm personality, love of conversation, deep faith, and his passion for baseball. Joe was happiest when surrounded by family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Joe was a familiar face in his church community and found great joy in connecting with others, sharing stories, and making people smile.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Hart Chapel (1099 Gordon St. Guelph) on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, and again on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 12 - 1 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. A committal service at Marymount Cemetery (5400 Hwy 6, Guelph) will follow the service. Everyone is invited back to the funeral home for a reception after the burial.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Joe’s memory to the Guelph General Hospital.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
