It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lu, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Lu passed away peacefully after a full and meaningful life. She was the devoted wife of Bob for 53 years, a loving mother to Brendan (Alexa) and Jeremy (Revati), and a cherished grandmother to Elise and Farrah.
Lu will be fondly remembered by her extended family, including her in-laws Bruce (Linda) and Barbara (Mark), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she touched with kindness and warmth.
She was a teacher with the Upper Grand District School Board specializing in primary school reading. Her students loved her and she loved them. She had many hobbies and was a skillful knitter. She loved to travel and visited every continent except Antarctica. She had the unique talent of making those who she met feel instantly comfortable.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The United Way, The Salvation Army, Guelph General and St. Joseph’s Hospitals or The Red Cross - causes that were close to Lu’s heart.
She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Friends will be received on Sunday, December 28 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph. A service will take place in the chapel at 3:00 pm, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Lounge.
