It is with the utmost, profound sadness that we announce the passing of one of the most beautiful souls to ever walk this earth – Lucy Sartori (nee Zampieri) at the age of 64, after a brief yet courageous battle with cancer. She was called home to God with her precious family by her side on May 21, 2024. Cherished wife of Pat Sartori for 43 years. Beloved mother (aka “Ma”) and best friend to Natasha and Mikayla Sartori. Adored Nonna of Paolo Angerilli. Dear sister and confidant to Fiorella Zampieri. Lucy will be missed by all her brother and sister-in-laws in Guelph and in Italy, her beautiful nieces and nephews whom she deeply adored, and her countless friends whom she treasured with all her heart.
Born in Toronto in 1960 to her wonderful papa Renato (2001) and her loving mamma Fernanda (2017) Zampieri. Lucy was an exuberant child. Her bright and sunny personality was evident at a very early age. Blessed with such a passion for life, beauty, and grace, Lucy went on to meet the love of her life Pat at just 14 years old. Through all of life’s ups and downs, they got through everything together side by side. A few years after they were married, they welcomed two children together. This is where Lucy shone the brightest. Being a mother was her greatest joy and was what she was put on this earth to be. She was always with her girls – going on school trips, playing Barbies for countless hours, and was always a phone call away for a ride home no matter the hour. Over the years, you could find Lucy rocking out and head banging at a rock concert, hosting tea parties, in her flower garden, decorating for all the holidays, or in the kitchen cooking her famous risotto and sugo. Lucy also knew how to throw an epic party; with countless gatherings and barbeques over the years, she sure did know how to have fun! Every year, her generous heart would put on a grand Halloween party for all the children she knew. They would gather and hear spells that Zia Lucy came up with. Her passion for the Toronto Maple Leafs will go unmatched. No matter the disappointment, Lucy never gave up hope that one day the Stanley Cup would come back to Toronto.
In 2017, Lucy was overjoyed to become a Nonna to her “amore” Paolo. He was the greatest gift she could ever have received, and no two people had a bond like Paolo and his beloved Nonna. Their love for each other will live on in all the memoires they shared in their short time together. She loved him beyond words.
Ma – thinking of life without you is too much to bear right now. We are honoured and blessed to call you our mamma because you were simply the best in every possible way. We cannot express how deeply we love you. We’d be nothing without you, and we are who we are today because you loved us. Not a day will go by that we won’t think of you. Thank you for everything you did for us. You always put us first no matter what. You were one of a kind, and will live on in all the lives you have touched over the years.
Everyone loves Lucy! Go Leafs go!
