It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our beloved matriarch, Nancy Tersigni. She died peacefully in her home on Sunday, August 18th, surrounded by her family. She was 90 years old. We will remember Nancy as a devoted mother, who made everyone in her life feel special and loved.
She is survived by her adoring husband of 68 years, Gino Tersigni. Gino never wavered in ensuring Nancy’s utmost wellbeing, keeping her at home where she could be more comfortable and with her family. He dedicated every day to making sure she was safe and cared for.
Nancy is survived by her five children: Laura (Sandro Petrin), Mary Joy Morgan, Aldo (Cathy), Amelia (Kevin McAdams) and Lisa (Derek Holt). She also had a special place in her heart for her niece Jody Weiler, whom she loved like a daughter.
She was an incredible Nonna to 14 grandchildren: Christopher (Amber), Alex (Lisanne), Matthew (Melissa), Justine, Jordan, Samantha (Brad), Nick (Sophie), Hailey, Samuel (Gabby), Mitchell (Emma), Patrick, Ella, Nathan and Charlie. Nancy had a special bond with each of her grandchildren. She filled their childhoods with warmth, laughter, fun, and of course delicious food. Nancy was blessed to have 7 great-grandchildren: Julianna, Sienna, Dominic, Sebastian, Miles, Walter and Cecilia.
Nancy was born in Guelph on June 5th 1934 to Sam and Maria Sorbara. She is predeceased by her eight siblings - James (Kay), Violet Wilkie (Harry), Victoria Campbell (Derrick), Orlando (Eleanor), Dominic (Mary), Carmen Boyle (Danny), and Eleanor Keating (survived by Bob).
Nancy was also a loving sister-in-law to Loretta Dipede (the late Vincenzo), Tina Tersigni (the late Aldo), Amelia Corvetti (The late Panfilo), Brenda and Enzo Tersigni.
Nancy was so loved by her many nieces and nephews who all have their own special memories with her.
Nancy’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to those who provided amazing care for her over the years, grateful to Merlie, Martina and Angela, Abby. Thank you also to Dr. Choong and Dr. Ruddock for their incredible care.
Our Mother was a spectacular woman - with a talent for painting and an eye for style. She was known for her beauty, having been named Queen of the Sette Bello Ball in 1953. Her friends will miss her sense of humour and love for a good joke.
But what we will most remember Nancy for is her love for her family. How lucky we are to be her husband and kids. We will miss her smile and her loving embrace.
