Rita Marchesan

Rita is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ignazio. Her children Daniel, Irene Scheifele (Chris), predeceased David, 2025 (Anita). Rita was a very caring mother and was the best Nonna to her most precious granddaughters, Justine, Isabella, Maya, and Sara.

Rita was born in Castello di Godego, Treviso, Italy on March 20, 1941, from parents Clementina and Antonio Geremia. She will be dearly missed by her siblings, predeceased Father Giuseppe (2023), predeceased Mario (2025), Angelo, Father Peter, Maria, Camillo, and their families.

Rita met Ignazio in Italy, and came to Canada in 1965 with 6 month old Daniel. She made an incredible life for herself and her family in Guelph, Ontario. Rita was a fantastic cook, took pride in her flower garden, and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

As per Rita’s wishes, she will be cremated and a private family funeral will take place.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Columbia Forest Long Term Care Home for their compassionate care, kindness, and support for mom/Nonna.

As expressions of sympathy, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Parkinson Canada in lieu of flowers.
