Sam was beloved by his family, Kay, John, Maureen, Mike, Zee, and Alex, and a devoted companion to his much-loved rescue animals Ryder and Smokey. His love for animals was a reflection of who he was at his core — gentle, loyal, and deeply caring.
Sam will be remembered for his kindness, his strong work ethic, and the simple decency he brought into every interaction. He never forgot to say thank you. He had a cheeky smile that could disarm you instantly, an easygoing sense of humour, and a warmth that made people feel at ease. Being around Sam felt grounding — steady, genuine, and comforting.
In his final days, Sam was surrounded by a wide circle of family and friends who loved him deeply. The outpouring of care and presence spoke to the kind of man he was and the lasting impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him.
Though his life was far too short, Sam’s legacy lives on in the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the quiet goodness he brought into the world. He will forever be in our hearts and missed more than words can express.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday January 8 between 2-4pm and 7-9pm, and Service on January 9 at 3pm at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home & Chapel (1099 Gordon Street, Guelph).
In honour of Sam’s passion for helping animals in need of a safe home, please consider a donation to the Guelph Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
