The very best dad to Dianne (Jim), Amanda (Curtis), Shannon (Paul), Scott (Kori), and Becky. A proud and devoted Pops to Faith, Dylan, Seth, Gage, Maverick, Liam, and the late Lincoln. Cherished Great-Pops to Grace, Scarlett, and Brynleigh. Dear brother to Steve, Nancy, Sharon, Debbie, Mike, Keith, Cathy, Sean, and the late Ricky. Predeceased by his parents, Albert Arthur Oakley and Patricia Gwendolyn Oakley. He will be deeply missed by his extended family and many dear friends.
Scott will be remembered first and foremost as a devoted family man. Family was everything to him. Nothing brought him greater joy than having everyone together, especially during the holidays filling the house with laughter, stories, and love. His grandchildren were truly his pride and joy, and he adored each of his children beyond words. He was a proud father-in-law who often said he was the lucky one to have such an incredible family.
A lifelong and loyal fan of the Montreal Canadiens, Scott cheered passionately through every season, celebrating the wins and defending them fiercely through the losses.
Scott loved a good game of pool and was known to hustle a table or two, always with a grin and a playful competitive streak. For him, it was never just about winning it was about the camaraderie, the laughs, and the stories that followed.
A true social butterfly, Scott had a remarkable gift: he didn’t just remember faces he remembered names, stories, and details that made people feel seen and valued. Spontaneous and free-spirited, he lived life without needing a strict plan, trusting that the best moments would unfold naturally. He filled every room with warmth, humor, and unmistakable welcoming energy.
Scott dedicated 25 years to Red Top Taxi, where he didn’t just drive passengers, he built connections. He treasured the conversations, treated strangers like old friends, and left a lasting impression on many who had the privilege of sharing a ride with him.
He always had a story ready to tell, a memory to revisit, or a joke to lighten the mood. Through nostalgia and laughter, he kept family stories alive and ensured that no gathering was ever quiet for long.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hospice Wellington for their compassion and care, as well as to the many friends and loved ones who have surrounded them with support during this difficult time. Scott will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
