It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Sean Franklin Rea, our dear husband, father and grandfather on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Born July 28, 1935, Sean lived a full and meaningful life, marked by dedication to his family, hard work and kindness to all. He was an avid Blue Jays and Maple Leafs fan. An adventurous entrepreneur, Sean was involved in global economics and politics. Appreciating history, he was lucky enough to travel to many places of historical importance with his family.
Sean leaves behind his beloved wife Pauline of 64 years, his cherished daughters, Lisa (Dale Zacharias) and Laura Hallett (Greg Baglole) and his devoted grandchildren, Emma, Martha (Kieran Lee), Thomas Zacharias and Jane Hallett. Sean also leaves behind his sister Doreen (Bill Everitt), brother Ted (Elga), sister-in-law Jody Rea, brother-in-law Richard (Chris), brother-in-law Grant, sister-in-law Janet (Ralph Lynn) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Bill, sister-in-law Catherine More and stepsister Margaret Scott.
Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph. A Celebration of Life for Sean will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, from 1:30-4:00 pm, with words of remembrance being shared at 2:30pm. Reception to follow. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Guelph General Hospital Foundation or SickKids Foundation, Toronto.
