He was married to his beloved wife, Joan, for 67 wonderful years, a partnership marked by deep love and unwavering commitment.
A devoted father, he is lovingly remembered by Brian and Janice Richards, Anne-Marie and John Elrod, Adele and Archie Moore, and Jennifer and George Mochrie. He was predeceased by his cherished daughter, Charlene Richards.
Urbane was the proud grandfather of seven and great-grandfather to seventeen, always happiest when surrounded by the laughter and energy of his growing family. As one of eleven children, he shared a deep bond with his many siblings.
As a business owner and a tireless worker, he instilled the values of dedication, honesty, and perseverance in those around him. Urbane’s love of outdoors was boundless, whether it was spending time with family or trips to Mattawa for hunting or fishing, he embraced life with energy, gratitude and joy.
Above all, Urbane’s faith in Jesus Christ was his foundation and he placed his trust in what is eternal.
The family wishes to thank all the volunteers, nursing staff and doctors at Guelph General Hospital for their compassionate care.
