SHARP, Alan B. – 84, passed away on May 18th 2011 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary site, Halifax, N.S. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late John M. and Sally (Davis) Sharp. Alan spent some time in the Merchant Service as a Marine Engineer, but most of his years were spent in Engineering sales, where he became well known in the Lumbering Pulp and Paper and Mining industries throughout the Atlantic Provinces and Quebec. He was predeceased by his first wife Eileen (Sampson) and his brothers Eric, Roy, and Mervyn, his sisters Gwynth of Wales, also Ena and Joan of Halifax. He is survived by his daughter Elaine (Nancy) and son Paul (Vicky) and his wife Ellen, and her children and grandchildren; also his grandchildren Jacob, Ben and Katie. A memorial service will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, N.S.
