Alice Sylvia "Sybe" Moulton. Age 94, of Halifax, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2019 with family by her side. She was born in 1924 in Halifax, daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Barteaux) Pentz.
In 1948 she graduated from Dalhousie University with a BSc majoring in Education. She was active on the Dalhousie basketball team earning a “letter D” for her accomplishments. Later that year she married Richard (Dick) W. Moulton. Dick and Sybe were the proud parents of eight children. During the 52 years she was married, Sybe volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Red Cross. Sybe’s hobbies were reading, cross word puzzles, bridge, tennis, biking, camping, curling, golfing and mopeding the streets of Halifax. She was a past member of the Waegwoltic Club, Halifax Curling Club, Oakfield Golf and Country Club, Neptune Theatre and Symphony Nova Scotia. Later in life Sybe spent many happy winters with Dick in Florida. There they biked, played bridge and belonged to the Fort Lauderdale Golf and Country Club. Sybe could best be described as a very avid baseball and tennis fan in her more recent years. One of her favourite destinations in N.S. was going to Nictaux in the Valley.
In addition to her parents, Sybe was predeceased by her sister, Irene Ella Pentz; husband, Dick; infant son, Hugh Christopher Barteaux and son, John Albert “Bruce”.
