As a young girl, Ann, endured the Nazi occupation of Holland during WWII. Shortly after the war ended, she met a British solder, Moe, who was stationed in Holland-he would later become her husband. They started their married life in Britain. In the 1950’s, they immigrated with their young family to Canada where they soon settled in Aurora, Ontario, and lived there for many years. Eventually a job transfer brought them to Halifax.
Ann was a kind soul with a strong constitution. She was an expert knitter. She was passionate about needle work, puzzling, reading, tulips, her family and KitKat bars. Ann died peacefully surrounded by her family. The family would like to thank the staff of Northwood Ivany Place, Mayflower Point; Cobequid Community Health Centre Emergency; EHS; Halifax Infirmary 8.4 (especially Jacques) for the compassionate care of our beloved Oma.
