Arthur Ellis Johnson

After a long and hard fought battle with cancer, Art Johnson passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital early Thursday morning, January 7, 2016. Family would like to thank Dr. Wanda Hasagawa, nurses and staff at the Medical Day Unit, Dixon Center, whose smiles, compassion and professionalism was essential to on-going treatment, Thank you. Arthur is survived by his wife Georgia, son James and daughter Heather.

Art was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Margaret Johnson; baby, John-Thomas; aunt, Alma Johnson; sister, Ruth Ashley and grandson, Aubrey Elias Johnson.

Art had a long, successful, 35 year career with the Canadian Air Force. After retiring, he worked as liaison for the Canadian Military with Bristol Aerospace and Valcom Aerospace.

Arts passion was golfing, was a long time member of the Hyland golf club in Ottawa, Ontario, and an active and very proud member of the Hyland Syndicate association.

Art was also a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church, Robie Street, Halifax. As per his wishes, all donations to be gifted to St. Margret of Scotland Church, 3761 Robie Street, Halifax, NS B3K 4T3 (902-455-2451) or the Canadian Myeloma Research www.myelomacanada.ca/en/donation.htm

Services will be held at St. Margaret of Scotland Church on Monday, January 11th at 11am. Private interment in Pleasant Hills Cemetery, Sackville.
