Arthur P. Vardy

Vardy, Arthur Patrick - age 75 of Halifax passed away Jan. 2, 2011 in Parkstone Enhanced Care. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Arthur Edward and Gladys Helene(Rodgers)Vardy. He worked 35 years for Canfor Ltd and part time at Kent Building Supplies. He was a lector at St. Pius X for many years. He coached hockey for years. He was an avid bowler and baseball fan. He is survived by daughters, Mary Clare(Gary)Langille, Nancy(Paul)McNamara and Susan Vardy, son Arthur(Wendy) Vardy, sister Joan Patterson and grandchildren Kyle and Sonya. He was predeceased by wife Barbara. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8pm, Wednesday, Jan. 5,2011 at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. Hfx, NS. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, 2pm in Saint Benedicts Church, Halifax. Cremation to follow, interment at a later date in Oakridge Memory Garden. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
