He was born on June 7, 1937 to Pauline and Gilbert Miller in Gaspe, Quebec.
Throughout his working life, Barry was a bank manager and worked in sales with Olivetti, from whom he received many honours and accolades. He also drove a taxi and worked in hardware in his spare time.
Barry married Gail and together they had three children: Peter, Andrea, and Bruce.
Barry was an avid golfer and Blue Jays fan. He loved the outdoors and spent many summers camping with his wife and children. In his retirement, Barry enjoyed many long, warm days at his trailer in Sussex, New Brunswick.
Barry drew immense joy from following the sporting and academic exploits of his six grandchildren. He looked forward to the family Friday night hockey games whenever he could attend.
He was a kind soul who was always willing to help someone out.
In his later years, Barry enjoyed simple pleasures such as daily walks and chronicling each day’s events in his journal.
Barry is survived by his children Peter (Vivian), Andrea (Kelvin), and Bruce (Lesley); his grandchildren Logan, Angus, Kaegan, Peyton, Ethan, and Brinn; and his second wife, Barbara.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline and Gilbert; his brother, Maurice; and his first wife, Gail.
The family would like to express their immense gratitude to the staff of Melville Lodge for the tremendous care they provided Barry during his last years.
