Gone from this earth, but never from our hearts. Basil fought a courageous battle with cancer. His loved ones were touched by his positivity, strength, and grace throughout his journey. He continued to define himself beyond his illness. One unforgettable moment was when Basil shaved his beard for cancer funding. He felt grateful for the compassionate care he received and support that surrounded him and wanted to give back. Basil left us peacefully on the morning of February 12th, with his wife of 42 years by his side. Judy was privileged to walk beside him through his journey, always by his side.
Basil was a person ready and willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a antique car enthusiast and avid gardener. He took great pride in his career, working for Canada post for 35 years and embarking on second career with CAA. Basil lived a full, adventurous life. He made friends easily and knew many people. He will continued to be remembered for his laughter and love of road trips and music. Yet what he cherished most was the company of his family and friends. His grandchildren, Symmone and Owen, brought tremendous joy to his life. His daughters, Laura and Melissa, and sons-in-law, Ryan and Frank, meant the world to him. Basil was a loving Son, Brother, Friend, Neighbour, Husband, Uncle, Father, and Grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right
