It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our son Benoit. He lost his tremendous battle with Ewing Sarcoma at home in peace and the presence of his mom Angela, father Benoit ( Benny ) and younger brother Joshua.
Benoit was a shining light - his quick wit, silly “ dad” jokes and sense of humour always had everyone around him smiling . His hobbies included drawing, gaming with friends, 3-D printing as well as listening to music that crossed many decades.
At home he would talk about classic cars, modifying things and drawing. He would be accompanied by the family dogs Murphy and Luc wherever he went and we often found them snuggled up having a well deserved nap .
His gentle soul reflected as he played with his brother Josh, always making sure to help him and ensure all of his needs were met before his own even while he was undergoing chemotherapy treatments. They enjoyed swimming in the pool and playing Lego together .
Benoit advocated for all those who didn’t have a voice and those who were too scared to . He was always aware of how everyone was, making sure everyone had what they needed putting the well- being of others above his own right to the very end of his days.
He was an active member of the GSA, Student Council, D&D club as well as stagehand at this year’s musical at Citadel High School . He was a successful and happy student who through of school as his happy place.
We would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and all staff on 6-Link Hematology / Oncology unit for their compassion, kindness and care from the beginning when we had the cancer diagnosis all the way to his final days . They are all considered family and have special places in our hearts .
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Autism Nova Scotia or the I.W.K as these two places always help others in any and all ways possible .
Visitation will take place on Sunday June 1 and Monday June 2, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm both days. A celebration of Benoit's life will be on Wednesday June 4, from 10am-12pm, taking place at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive.
