

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Bernard (Bernie) Ray Williams on July 10th 2020 at Dartmouth General Hospital of age 90, born 1st September 1929 to the late John and Myrtle Williams of Halifax.
Bernie went quietly into the night after a long battle with illnesses and trying to get to his beloved wife Joyce Lorraine (Garth) Williams at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home, although he was first on the list Covid-19 prevented him and her to reconnect. Bernie will continue to watch over her and to protect her, their love is that strong.
Bernie worked as a Shipwright receiving his Apprenticeship 23rd of April 1954, and would always recount his stories of special jobs he did while there. Bernie then joined Kasco Atlantic Service Company Ltd, where he travelled the Maritimes and worked until his retirement to spend more time together and travel with his wife Joyce.
Bernie and Joyce were strong in their religious beliefs and were devoted members of St. Marks Anglian Church in the north end of Halifax. Where he became a WARDEN of St. Marks.
Bernie was predeceased by sisters Ora and Vivian, brothers Percy (Bill), Roderick (Roddy), Clyde, and Kenny. Also, his best friend John Driscoll.
Bernie leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved and would often speak about.
The family would like to thank all the 3 West nursing staff to the care given to Bernie on his stay at Dartmouth General Hospital. Also, the Care and Nursing staff of St. Vincent’s Nursing home for their kindness while he visited his wife Joyce.
Bernie leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved and would often speak about.
