Blanche Evelyn Castel

Blanche was the first secretary of the St. Stephen’s School, a position she held for over 20 years. She was also a chartered member of the St. Stephen’s CWL.

Survived by daughters, Joan Burgwin, Halifax, Rita (Hector) Belliveau, Lower Sackville, Christina Castel, Hamilton; sons, Roy (Lorraine), Greenwood, Fred (Cheryl), Ottawa; grandchildren, Janice Mombourquette, Roger Burgwin, Laura Brown, Bill and Brent Castel, Peter, Scott, and Brenda Belliveau, and Angela Castel; 16 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, William F. Castel; sisters, Constance Castel, Marion Bourgon; brothers, Charles Robinson, Hugh Robinson, Bernard Robinson.

Visitation to be held in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, (455-0531) on Sunday, March 9, 2014, from 1-4 pm, Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 10 at 1:30 pm at Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish (formerly St. Stephen’s), 6032 Normandy Drive, Halifax. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
