Lifetime resident of Kearny Lake, and son of the late Leo and Stella Fillis passed away peacefully at the Abbie J. Lane on January 6, 2017.
Dad spent his early working years at Safety Supply and later was employed with the School Board. He retired and devoted time to his passion for hunting and fishing as well as enjoying his camp and loved spending time with his grandson Colin.
Borden leaves behind sons, Farian Fillis (Louise Nowlan) and Timmy Fillis, both of Kearney Lake, as well as our mother, Jan (Jeannie) Welsh with whom he remained friends; several grandchildren and one special grandson, Farian Colin Fillis; one sister, Dorothy Herring of Halifax; cousins, nieces and nephews and one special nephew, Shawn Herring.
Borden was predeceased by one grandson, Christopher Borden Fillis; sisters, Delores Fraser, Juanita and Elizabeth Fillis; brothers, John and Wilburn Fillis.

Visitation to take place Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, with funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm at JA Snow Funeral Home.
