Boulos "Paul" Boutros Jabbour

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Boulos Boutros Jabbour who departed peacefully on May 15th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Diman, Lebanon on April 19th, 1943, he is the eldest son of Boutros and Hind Jabbour.

Boulos is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife Mary and children; Peter (Sadie), Patrick (Nancy), Nicole (Richard) Abi-Assi and Joulia, as well as five grandchildren; Theresa, Paul, Natasha, Sofia and Ella, all of Halifax. He is also survived by his two brothers: Pierre (Kathy), Wadih (Katia) and his four sisters, Hilda (Zakhour) Faddoul, May (Emile) Laba, Amale (Philip) Choueiri and Therese (Antonios) Faddoul, all of Halifax, as well as 16 nieces and nephews, and numerous friends in Lebanon and in the Lebanese communities of Halifax and Australia.

Boulos began working at the young age of 13 to help support his parents and siblings. He ambitiously travelled to Australia in 1970 to pursue a better future and returned to Lebanon in 1974 where he met the love of his life, Mary. He came to Halifax in 1977 to reunite with his siblings and parents but his love for Diman drew him back there in 1987 to raise his family in his beloved village. He eventually moved to Halifax in the early 2000’s to provide a better life for his wife and four children.

Boulos was a humble and compassionate man, as well as a devoted Christian. He was a regular parishioner at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church. Along with prayer, his greatest pride and joy in life was to be surrounded by his loving family. He regularly gathered with them to eat, drink, play cards, and to watch his favorite hockey team, the Montreal Canadiens.

Boulos will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

The family wishes to thank the many people that provided comfort and care over the past several years. Condolences will be accepted on Wednesday from 2-8pm at 100 White Glove Terrace, Halifax.

Visitation and funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church - 111 Clayton Park Drive, Halifax. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 18th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm and the funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 19th at 11:00am.
