Born in Bisley, England, she was the daughter of the late Arthur William Stanton and Bessie Gertrude (Chew) Stanton. She was a member of the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire (I.O.D.E.) chapters in Bridgewater and New Glasgow as well as the War Brides Associations of Halifax/ Dartmouth and Nova Scotia. She also volunteered much of her time to the Pier 21 Museum Project.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 67 years, Wilfred J. (Biff) Bennett, of Halifax; son Alan, daughter-in-law Linda (Harris) of Dartmouth and a granddaughter, Amanda Bennett of Victoria, B.C.
She is predeceased by her sister Joyce.
There will be a Celebration of Brenda’s Life at J.A. Snow Funeral Home Chapel, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531 on Friday, October 19th at 2:00pm. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery.
