Born on November 7th, 1942, Brian grew up on Evans Avenue in Fairview and was the son of Lorne and Irene (Walsh) Croucher. He will be forever missed by his wife of more than 56 years, Thelma (MacDonald) Croucher, who he loved dearly. He’s also lovingly remembered by his children, Greg Croucher; Philip Croucher; grand-children Brady and Naomi; sister-in-law Carrie Croucher, as well as many other family members. He’s predeceased by his parents, Lorne and Irene Croucher, along with his brother, Lorne Croucher.
Brian raised his family on Coles Road in Lower Sackville, N.S., and moved to Bedford when his children made it to university. He loved his family, especially watching his grandchildren grow into the wonderful teenagers they are today. Brian worked for more than 30 years as an electrician, working on countless construction sites that are now staples of our city. He was an avid curler, loved golf and was known for offering sage advice through back-yard swing drills for his two sons prior to every round.
Brian also loved watching and attending live sporting events. From senior baseball to junior hockey, there wasn’t a sporting event he wouldn’t be up to going to. Much of the time, his wife Thelma was by his side. The pair did almost everything together and loved every moment of it. Brian’s love language was being there for people. He was always there for his family.
A funeral and final good-bye for Brian will take place on Monday, April 20th at 1 p.m. at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 3311 Ashburn Drive in Halifax. A reception will follow downstairs.
Memorial donations may be made in Brian’s name to Calvin Presbyterian Church at [email protected] .
The family wishes to send a special thank-you to the staff of Oceanview Manor Continuing Care Centre for their care and compassion for Brian in the nearly five years he spent there.
