Born to Rose and Donald Worrall in Boston, England, Brian grew up exploring the Lincolnshire countryside with his brother, Peter. He obtained a PhD in Chemistry from The University of Hull and moved to Edmonton in 1963. In 1966, he moved to Halifax to work at the NS Technical College (later Technical University of NS), eventually as a Full Professor of Industrial Engineering. His research included Scheduling and Time Study, and he published many papers and presented at international conferences.
It was in Edmonton that Brian met Carole (Park), and they married in 1966. Dedicated to his family and community, he supported his children’s’ interests and volunteered with many organizations, including Scouts Canada, Halifax District Youth Soccer Association, and Rockingham United Church. Brian and Carole enjoyed traveling to Brian’s conferences and on many tours and cruises, and after Carole’s passing in 2010 Brian continued to travel as often as possible. He rowed, swam, skied, and played soccer, tennis, and cricket in his younger days, and took up golf later in life.
Brian is survived by his brother, Peter, England; his three children: Keltie, Vancouver; Ian, Bedford; and Bruce (Joan) and his three grandchildren, Rose, Alasdair, and Eamon, Kingston Ontario. He was predeceased by his wife, Carole; his parents and his brother Dennis.
