LeBlanc, Carole Anne Therese - Age 73 of Dartmouth passed away due to complications of surgery, surrounded by family on Monday, June 20, 2016, at the QEII Health Science Centre, Halifax. Born in Halifax on July 8, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Florence (Hansen) Borden.
She grew up in north-end Halifax and attended St. Patrick’s High School. She worked as a personnel manager in various federal government departments in a number of provinces for over 30 years. She liked to say she could walk down Barrington Street and know half of the people there.
Along with her husband Neil, she developed a passion for golf. They were longtime members at Hartlen Point Golf Club, Dartmouth, and later at Paragon Golf and Country Club in Kingston, Kings County, where they shared laughs with many good friends. She once represented Nova Scotia in a national golf championship in Saskatoon. She and a playing partner shared rare back-to-back holes-in-one on the same hole.
She had impeccable handwriting and great style, and was a pioneering outspoken woman. She was very proud of her daughters and adored her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of almost 54 years, Neil, of Dartmouth; daughters, Susan (Rob MacQueen), Dartmouth; Linda (James John), Halifax; grandchildren, Rachel and Ben MacQueen, and Megan John; brothers, Robert (Carol), Michael; sisters, Phyllis (Grant Boudreau), Diane Stewart, Barbara (Paul Toner), Donna (Brian Connors); many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by brothers, Frederick, Kenneth, Harold, Wayne; sisters, Marie, Lorraine, and Betty. We wish to thank Dr. Mark Walsh and the staff of the VG ICU for their care.
Visitation will take place at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on Thursday, June 23, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A memorial service for Carole will be held on Friday June 24, 2016 at 10:30 am from J.A. Snow Funeral Home 339 Lacewood Dr. Halifax.
