

— 92, of Halifax, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 18, 2010. Born in Aylsford , she was a daughter of Leonard and Evelyn (Wass) Goucher. Carolyn was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed spending summers at her cottage working in her gardens, especially the vegetable garden. She was a talented seamstress and did many types of hand work. She enjoyed playing bridge over the years and played in several neighbourhood clubs. She also enjoyed reading, doing the daily crossword, and cryptoquote. Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Anthony) Delaney, Boutiliers Point, and brother, Leonard Goucher Sr.; grandchildren, Elaine Minichiello, North Vancouver, B.C.; Elizabeth Simpson, Stillwater Lake; Jamie Curry, Allison Fisher, of Halifax; Valerie Gordon, Ashton, Ont., and several great-grandchildren. Also she is survived by sisters-in-law, Ann Thompson and Dorothy Campbell, both of Halifax; Cecelia Bruno, Arizona, and Audrey Millett, Windsor. Carolyn was predeceased by husband, James; daughter, Mary Curry (New Glasgow); brother, Garnet Goucher (Newport Station), and sister, Dorothy Smith (Italy). There will be no visitation at her request. Funeral mass will be held in St. Agnes Church at 2 p.m., Monday, February 22, Rev. John Williams officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Private burial is to be held in the spring. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the CNIB.
