

She was the daughter of the Late Audrey Hewlett and George Grant Sr., and was raised by her grandmother, Ada Oliver.
She was employed by Maritime Telephone and Telegraph (MT&T) for many years. She enjoyed music, dancing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, and baking, but most of all, her family. Mom was a strong believer of God and her faith never waivered through her earthly journey and spiritual transition home.
Charlye is survived by her husband James McNeil; daughter, Dorriean Sullivan (Chad); son, Darcey; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, with a very close relationship with her granddaughter Fatuma; sisters, Paula Grant-Smith (Ricky), Marlene Williams (Lionel), Lois Oliver -Lethbridge (Angus); brothers, George Jr. (Winnie), Warren (Monica), Dean (Debbie), Kevin (Sonja), Vernon Oliver (Cola), Steven Oliver, Kevin Oliver (Darcell). She was predeceased by sister, Rosemarie Grant-Barnes, Linda Sutherland; brothers, Lyle, Darryl Oliver, Shawn Oliver.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday January 2, 2025 at 2pm in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, NS. There will be no repass.
