Born on January 13th, 1969, Chrissy grew up in Hubbards, Nova Scotia.
Chrissy is survived by her two greatest joys in life, her boys, Jacob (Taylor) and Michael (Maddie) Miller. She is also survived by her parents, Lionel and Helen MacLean, siblings David (Laura), Peter (Marion), Jim (Darlene), Garth (Robyn), Teresa (Rob) and Ben. She also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends.
Growing up offered her many adventures with her siblings and parents. Throughout the year, the family would make a trek to their camp on Timber Lake, where she enjoyed swimming and exploring. She loved snowmobiling, bicycling and summers at Fox Point Beach with her siblings and cousins. Later in life, this love of the outdoors continued where she lived at Mill Lake. Her passion for travel came from family road trips in the big orange van that took them on adventures throughout Canada and the US.
Chrissy graduated from Chester Municipal High School and was an avid soccer player. She then proceeded to attend Dalhousie where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Biology) and later a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) from Saint Mary's. During her time at Dalhousie, she also studied French at Universite Laval.
Chrissy taught for several years before starting a family. Once her boys reached school age, she followed one of her dreams and opened a community centre in Fox Point. Chrissy then went on to work for the federal government with the RCMP before moving to Fisheries and Oceans.
As an avid explorer, downhill skier, curler, boater and the ultimate party planner, Chrissy was always laughing and sharing her beautiful smile with all around her. Her childhood adventures gave her a passion for life and travel, which she shared with her boys, family and friends. She touched the hearts of everyone who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories. Her warmth and kindness will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
