

The death of Curtis M. Wilcox - 97, at Arbourstone Enhanced Care on February 7, 2012. Born in Newtown N.B. June 28, 1914. Son of the late Melbourne and Frances (Keith) Wilcox. For 10 years he owned and operated a farm in Newtown. Due to ill health sold and moved to Sussex where he was employed with Sussex Ginger Ale Ltd. for 5 years. He went to work with Sears in November 1952, moving to Halifax in 1953. He retired from Sears in 1978 after 24 years service. After retiring he worked with Nova Scotia Savings and Loan Company and the Girl Guides of Canada for a number of years. He and wife Margaret spent 10 winters at their winter home in Florida. He was predeceased by first wife Cora (Hawkes), second wife Margaret (Wagner); brothers, Chester, Claude, Keith’ and sister Doris Ritchie. Survived by his daughter Ruth (Edwin) Tracey; son Lloyd (Kathy); step daughters Elaine (Eric) Pace, Judy (John) Snow’ stepson John (Margery) Wagner; grandchildren Wendy (Mike) Messervey, Scott (Jennifer) Wilcox, Gregory (Elsie) Pace, Jo-Anne (Daniel) MacGillivray, Julie-Ann (Dean) Steinburg, Craig Connolly, Nancy Snow (Andrew Stenhouse); several great grandchildren; sisters in law Pearl Davis, Olive Weatherhead, brother in law Chester (Doris) Grimm, and many nieces and nephews. The body has been cremated. By request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax on Saturday February 11 at 2:30 pm in the chapel, Pastor Nolan Lee will be officiating. Reception to follow.
