Daniel Layton Myers

Age 67, of Halifax, passed away on February 21, 2016 at the Halifax Infirmary.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he was a son of Layton and Rita Myers.

Danny worked for the Toronto Star for 15 years and was a member of Local 269 (I.L.A.) for 32 years until he retired in 2014.

He is survived by his wife, Laura McGinnis of 12 years, daughter, Lisa Myers-Bilton (Bill), sister, Cheryl Myers and brother, Gary (Elaine). He is also survived by grandchildren, Jacob, Olivia and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Danny was predeceased by his daughter, Brenda Lee.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 29th at 11:00 am in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, with Reverend Carson Baxter officiating, followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
