Born on July 11, 1956 in Halifax, David was the son of the late Jack and Shirley (nee Hatt) Gardiner of Timberlea. In 1979 David began his career as a Biomedical Technologist at the Victoria General Hospital and later worked in the Halifax Infirmary.
In 1980, David married his childhood sweetheart Sharon, who was not only the love of his life, but his best friend. David was a genuinely kind and loving person who enjoyed travelling, motorcycles and most of all, his family. David spent many years of his life travelling the world with his wife, their two children, and later in his life, his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
David was predeceased by his mother and father, brother Christopher Gardiner, and wife Mary Sharon Gardiner (nee Corbin). He is survived by his two daughters, Sara (Matthew) Allain of Shad Bay and Holly (Derek) Minney of Hatchet Lake, and four grandchildren, Melody Allain, Violet Allain, Easton Minney, and Wyatt Minney, who affectionately called him “Bampy.”
Arrangements have been entrusted to J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax N.S. David's memorial service will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 10:00am. There will be a reception to follow. Flowers may be sent to J.A. Snow Funeral Home, or in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Heart Foundation of Jamaica.
