Diane Marie Covin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane Marie Covin age 90. She passed away peacefully at home on December 26th 2019. Born in Grand Banks NL July 21st 1929, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sue Matthews. She worked many years at Stadacona, retiring in 1988. She was a loving wife and mother. Predeceased by her loving husband Alfred; son Ricky; sister, Ann Prest; and brother Bill Matthews. She is survived by her brother Amil Matthews (Shirley); children Paul, David, Michelle, Dion and daughter-in-law Kim, all of Halifax; her “Sunshine” Amanda (Bernie); grandson Izaak (Stephanie) and “her angel” great granddaughter Skylar, plus 12 other grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and “Nan’s girl,” her cat, Cuddles. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Diane could light up a room with her witty spitfire personality. Family would like to thank all the doctors, VON nurses and Closing the Gap Homecare for the amazing care that Diane received over the past few months. No visitation or service as per Diane’s request. Not a day went by that we didn’t show Diane how much we loved and appreciated her, so please in her memory, take time today and everyday to show the people that mean the most to you, that they are loved; and cherish every moment you have with them because every day is a gift.
