Born in Halifax, he was the son of William John Bliss and Mary Margaret (Pye) Bliss.
Don worked at Christie Brown and Company Ltd for 35 years, was a lifetime member of Trinity Anglican Church, an Anglican Lay reader for 60 years and involved with the Sunday School and Scouts, as well as being an avid sports player.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Madeline (Croft) Bliss; sister, Margaret Oakley; brothers, Bill and Kenneth Bliss; 4 nieces and 1 nephew.
Predeceased by his father and mother; 3 sisters and 1 brother.
Visitation will be held Sunday May 7 from 2 – 5pm at JA Snow Funeral Home, Halifax. Service to be held on Monday, May 8th at 11 am in Trinity Anglican Church, 321 Main Ave, Halifax, Rev. Leonard Bednar officiating. Burial in St. John’s Cemetery.
