

Passed away at the age of 91 at Parkland Clayton Park. Born in Lynn, MA, to Eldred and Blanche (Legrow) Sheppard. She leaves to mourn daughter Cyndi Archibald, Stephenville Crossing, NL, son Jeffrey Pike (Sylvain Filion), Halifax, NS, along with grandchildren Jennifer Lucas (Chris) Kingston, ON, Andrew Archibald (Sarah McIssac), Edmonton, AB, Victoria Archibald, Edmonton, AB, and great grandsons Ethan and Peter Lucas. She is survived by sister Wilverna Briggs, Ottawa, nieces Teri Kulesa, Tracey Briggs-Plant, Lori Briggs, Jacqueline MacKinnon, and Christianne Laidlaw, and nephew Christopher Sheppard. Her aunt Kathleen Flight and her long-time dance partner and close friend Phil Burke will also miss her dearly. Predeceased by parents, sisters Lois and Ona, brother Charlie, brother-in-law John, and son-in-law Peter.
Dorothea grew up in Harbour Grace, NL. She moved to Stephenville, NL, in 1949 where she worked at the USAF Ernest Harmon Air Force Base; she was secretary-treasurer of the Amalgamated School Board. Later on in her career, she worked for Air Canada. She then transferred with Air Canada to Halifax, NS, where she retired.
She was active with the Girl Guides as a leader for many years; she was a member of the Eastern Star, Beta Sigma Phi, in Stephenville. She loved to dance, ice skate, cross-country ski, curl and bowl, but her biggest passions were golf and anything related to Newfoundland and Labrador.
